Sustainability

At Barakat, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact by prioritizing recycled gold and gemstones whenever possible. We continuously refine our jewelry production processes through close collaboration with manufacturers to ensure ethical sourcing, transparency, and fair labor practices.

Since the mid-1990s, Barakat has been a pioneer in introducing branded diamonds to Panama. Our partnership with Lazare Diamonds was a natural fit, reflecting Lazare’s esteemed reputation and Maurice Templesman’s significant contributions to the Kimberley Process and philanthropic efforts in Africa.

In 2016, we introduced Diamond Foundry (Vrai) diamonds as a sustainable alternative. These lab-created diamonds feature zero carbon emissions and no human toll.

We are always seeking new ways to enhance our sustainability efforts and make a positive impact on the industry.

Ariana Arias and her mother, Denise Arias Barakat, continue the family legacy at Barakat. Ariana now leads the business with her mother’s guidance, blending tradition with innovation to carry on their storied heritage in the jewelry world.
